Unreal Tournament 2004

Dear Epic...
Can you just remaster this please for the modern day? I don't care if I have to wait for 2024 for a 20th anniversary or what ever, just please make this happen!

UT2004 still to this day stands as one of the best games of all time and all she needs is a new coat of paint to print money!

And? Remastering the game will kill the game even more. UT4 killed the games future. This game is already good as it is with a hefty modding community and a lively online player base. Even the graphics arent too dated yet. Youre asking for a remaster when the majority of the comminuty dont want/need one.

oh really? and, what exactly qualifies you to speak on behalf of the entire community?

oh, that's right, nothing.
so speak for yourself.

No Qualification needed, just look at any other remastered game. Modding communities dont bother to port over to the new version since why should they, its already in the original version. People see remakes as a cash grab and wont buy it. FPS Arenas are dead in the water, just look at UT4, the biggest fail of a game remaster. The points go on. Please feel free to argue the case instead of telling me what i can and cannot discuss no matter my position in the UT2004 community.

If the idea of qualification to talk about is your argument, please go and contemplate your argument, as telling me what i can and cant talk about isn't a valuable discussion point.

I am not sure it needs a remaster, it plays just as good as it did, though it could do with slightly better multiplayer support, otherwise I still play this from time to time.

Maybe the graphics do not bother me as I grew up with it,

you do understand the difference between a remaster and a remake right? New coat of paint won't change the game...

I do understand the difference. Ut4 is a new game, and it did shockingly bad, a remaster will not help, moreover will hurt the game.

Unreal Tournament 2004 is a new game?

It's 18 years old?

Are you talking about the same thing as us?

We want a REMASTER of an 18 year old game, so basically 4k textures and resolution support with maybe Steam friends integration...

Please read my message again. I said UT4 is a game, not ut2004. Who is we? Just seems to be one guy? Most people who are good at modding can add 4k textures and steam support into the game without a remaster needed. A remaster just for that is a waste of time and money and wont gain a greater playerbase in relation to these additions. Asking for a remaster instead of going iut and modding the game yourself is extremely entitled and demanding. Not worth the time and effort for something so small. Ut4 was that break where, through the epic launcher, you could play with mates, and 4k textures of the game were available. Play that if you want those features. If you dont, dont come asking for a remaster for the sake of it.

OK we get it, you are a hater and don't want old games with new paint for a new generation.

UT2004 would thrive if remastered.

UT3 killed the game's future - FTFY.

The UT series started going downhill with the release of UT 2003 which really disappointed many UT99 fans. UT 2004 was an improvement over UT 2003, but much of the damage had already done. UT3 then failed to bring back the UT99 fans and to appeal to the UT 2004 fans and really didn't end up appealing to anyone as a result of its being released in a buggy beta-like condition with a severely consolized user interface. By the time the UT4 project started years later, the franchise only had a tiny fraction of its former player base around.

Just to put the record clear. I am not a hater. I have put forward valid points and so far all you have done is call me names. How would it thrive under a remaster? I have said many points why it wouldnt so if you think it does, let us know. I am not childish and wont be calling you names for the sake of disagreement

Wait, some people actually thought UT4 was a remaster? lol wut

It was a brand new game they were developing with the community and then abandoned it and left it to die to focus on Fortcrap. The community already knew this after months without an update and it took them a few years to officially confirm that development stopped. That shows how little they care for UT. Couldn't even be bothered to tell the community the moment they decided to abandon it.
