[Solved] Has anyone finally fixed mouse in Windows 10?
Years and years have passed, mouse is still inaccurate in UT2004 + Windows 10.

Even after applying several different tweaks and patches, like changing polling rate, DPI, tweaking the ini files, switching to OpenGL mode or using ENB Series, mouse still doesn't work properly as it used to do. Movements are incoherent.

I remember years ago playing it on Windows XP and Windows 7, mouse used to work fine.

My question is: has anyone finally managed to completely fix mouse issues in Windows 10? As in: is there any experienced/veteran player who's not having mouse issues? If yes, how can I possibly manage to fix them?

Surprisingly, setting resolution to 1024x768 and FOV to 90 fixed my mouse issues. Really weird since I don't have mouse issues at 1366x768 resolution on Windows XP and at 1920x1080 resolution on Windows 7 (both at 110 FOV).

I'm not having issues launching UT2004 in Windows 10, the game works.
My issues are with incoherent mouse movements (being fine in Windows XP and Windows 7), I've tried any existing fix that deals with mouse.

If you use reduce mouse lag and mouse smoothing, I guess you never perform flicks or tracking while playing...

ReduceMouseLag=False
i used that to make it work in windows 10, but now i just use the Z.I. fix , would be interested if you find another solution

Yeah, all lines saying "ReduceMouseLag" are False in my ini files. Mouse is still incoherent.

I use 110 in Windows 7 and Windows XP as well, but I'm not getting mouse issues. What should I set it to in Windows 10?

If you are used to 110, than keep it on 110.

Try solution 5 from my guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=594282124

Well I could try playing on 1024x768 and see if the problem goes away.

However, it works fine at 1920x1080 on my old Windows 7 PC. Works fine on Windows XP as well at 1366x768.

Very strange. I got no clue and have no issues myself working with 1920x1200 fov 100

The problem might be specific to certain hardware and software setups. However, the solution certainly might be helpful to others expericencing the same problem.

I guess the only way to figure what's the problem is comparing our setups.

I get the same issue in the following Windows 10 setups, and it fixes by setting resolution to 1024x768 and fov to 90:

Setup 1:
CPU: Intel Core i5-7400
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
RAM: 8 GB
OS: Windows 10 LTSB

Setup 2:
CPU: Intel Core i9-7980XE
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
RAM: 128 GB
OS: Windows 10 LTSB

Setup 3:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580 8 GB
RAM: 16 GB
OS: Windows 10 April Update

Setup 4:
CPU: Intel Core i5-7300 HQ
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 4 GB
RAM: 8 GB
OS: Windows 10 April Update

The issue doesn't happen in the following systems:

Setup 1:
CPU: Intel Pentium 965
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 4800 Ti
RAM: 3 GB
OS: Microsoft Windows XP
Running at 1366x768 resolution and 110 FOV

Setup 2:
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
RAM: 16 GB
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 (the problem happens when installing Windows 10 in this system, it doesn't happen with Windows 8.1)
Running at 1920x1080 resolution and 110 FOV

Have you tried over riding the DPI scaling in the exe properties to application controlled instead of system. That has really messed with a lot of other games internal resolutions and is a fix I have only had to use in windows 10.
