CD key appears to be invalid.....help!

i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling unreal tournament a few times....not working. Can see this being a problem through the disks but through steam i don't.
If anyone can please help me fix this problem, would be thankful!

Start>Regedit> search for your UT2004 CD-Key which is located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, Software, Unreal Technology, Installed Apps, UT2004, CDKey. Change that value to your key or try to delete it and reinstall the game.

That didn't work for me..
First time i had to manually put the cd key in, reinstalled the game and still didn't work then tried deleting the cd key, still didn't work.
I tried the original cd key from the disk itself but got the game through steam and unsure if unreal tournament gave me a key or not...need help!
Is there any other ways to fix this problem?? I have a windows 10.

there is an app called ut2004 key changer. u basicly open it, write ur key and press Set

Is this something on the computer, the internet, or where can i find this app? An example of what i am looking for, please.
