Unreal Tournament 2004

How to play in resolutions above 1680x1050?
How do I play in 1980x1050?

And my friend has an ultrawide monitor. Is there a fix for that too?

Open console with @ and type setres 1920x1050. Also download the hudfix mutator for widescreen monitors

Don't forget to adjust your FOV in the game corresponding to your resolutionformat.

By default the FOV is 90 which fits 4:3 resolution monitors.
Change it to 100 for 16:10 monitors and 106 for 16:9 monitors.
To change the value to 106 open the console and type 'fov 106'. The next spawn it will set.

Adjust your FOV to corresponding inside your resloution format

90 which is 4:3
100/1006 is 16:10 and 16:9

Going into settings and changing the renderer to OpenGL will unlock more screen resolutions.

I don't have OpenGL as an option. I can choose only Direct3D or Software.

Just open the console as post #2 suggest and type setres 1920x1050 or any other resolution your monitor supports.

Ah, I guess the OpenGL renderer is only available on the 64-bit version of the game.

Should be possible by erasing the column and adding one to the following lines in the ut2004.ini with 32 bit as well. I personally wouldnt apply OpenGL unless you run on Linux or are having issues that cannot be resolved. With OpenGL you get colorissues with characters not full visible in dark areas every now and then, orange being swapped to blue on decals and other visual issues.

The steam version isn't the 64-bit version?

Or did I accidentally install 32-bit by mistake?

The game is 32 bit and so is the steam version. There was a 64bit version leaked somewhere in time that has never been released. Some prefer the 64bit version, but I do not understand why as it got it's issues.

Go into your system folder and look for the config file, open in notepad and check which graphics setting is being used, you can change the full screen resolution to 1920 x 1080 not sure if this is only available in the 64 bit cfg though. There are other settings to make the game look excellent like uncompressing the lighting and textures

[WinDrv.WindowsClient]
WindowedViewportX=1902
WindowedViewportY=999
FullscreenViewportX=1920
FullscreenViewportY=1080
