Unreal Tournament 2004

Unreal Tournament 2004

UT 1999 remake?
Is this just a remake of the original UT (1999)? Also the Steam store doesn't show support for multiplayer so it cant be played versus?

No it's a sort of "extended edition" of UT2003, which was a sequel after the success of UT99.

As for multiplayer, it works but there aren't many around playing the game aside from a few hardcore people that play the game religiously. Setting up private matches with friends requires port forwarding which can be inconvenient.

At the time, Unreal Tournament was conceived as being a yearly release, like FIFA or something. Obviously that didn't work out, but that's why we saw UT2003 and then UT2004 and then nothing else until UT3, which was a bizarre choice of name considering it was the fourth UT game

I bought this game for the Bot matches. I have never had as much fun in a bot mode with anything other than this!

Go play a 1-on-1 map with 30+ bots on Godlike skill level and instagib mutator, it is hilariously futile to try to get to the top of the scoreboard, total chaos in the most fun way
