Double-jump can be a drownback on a certain difficulty, even against humains because it's a longer "straight" move So they Know where You will land; and You are longer "stuck" floatty in the air whereas You can Do several single dodge during this time so trickier to catch.
But Double-dodge help to reach higher or distants positions You can't with a single dodge (check about "Trial" game mode on Youtube and see all the movements possibilites).
Dodge help also escaping AoE attacks BUT sometimes You get more vulnerable to these...Depeding on when You jump (if triple-rockets has just been fired, otherwise he'll know where You land and he will have more Time time aim at your feet).
Other usefull trick : Shield Gun ! A lot of peoplebdon't mind about it but it's So usefull that it is mendatory to use it, it will save You so many times ; it's a winner thing against someone never using that.
Aslo, mind about item respawning time : bots always go for it. (you can find a guid on these easily).
Have a good weapon binding and get Used to it for the fastest speedswitch You can : it's a bit tedious at start but using wheelmouse is too...Slow, random, losing your focus.
