UT2k4 DVD (Editor's Choice, Mega Bonus Pack) ERROR install Windows 10

I just got a fresh install of Windows 10 (home edition, 64-bit) and I dug out my DVDs for this awesome game (yes, I have two legit copies of the DVD edition, with valid cd keys working in Windows 7), and I get the following error every time I try to install, whether I use the autorun or the setup (even in Administrator mode, even in compatibility mode with Windows XP SP 2 or 3, or even Windows 98/ME or 95!): All_Animations disk1\data2.cab data error (cyclic redundancy check)
Feature transfer failure (Data2.cab I believe it was). and the installer closes.

I have tried compatibility mode as stated with administrator mode.
I've tried another copy of the game (no visible scratches on either disc).
My BD-ROM drive is working properly.
I've tried two different discs (each with a different activation key).
All my software is legit.
I scanned for malware and viruses and found nothing as well.
I have downloaded the last official patch and the unofficial 64 bit patch (but if I can't install the game they're not much use yet..)

Any suggestions? I realize someone will say "just buy it again on Steam/GOG" but the question is, will that actually solve my problem? I've re-purchased games before only to have the same issues again, so I want hard evidence, if you are going to suggest this. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help I really would love to play this game online again like the old days.

And yes, I do own UT3 (on Xbox 360) but I prefer this game (almost as much as UT99!).

Most of the feedback I've found online all applies to after the game is installed (or links to fix files that are no longer available to download)... and I can't even install it! I'd be most grateful for any help...

I'm pretty sure the editor's choice edition that is on steam has most of the mega pack, as the mega pack also has the editor's choice content on there.

Just search the names of those maps online to find a new download link.
Regardering Community Bonus Pack download, search for CBP and CBP2 UT2004.

Also I have no clue why your installation from DVD fails. I'm sure I did my installation once succesfully with the 6 cd's on Windows 10.

Does the eventviewer give you any additional information?

There must be a difference between the DVD edition and the multi-disc CD edition.
