UT2k4 CD Keys are compatible with Unreal Anthology

As I was bored today, I tried CD Key of my Steam version of Unreal Tournament 2004 with my physical copy of Unreal Anthology aaand it worked! So, if you happen to have Unreal Tournament 2004 on Steam and stone broke to get the rest of series, you can use Unreal Tournament 2004 CD Key with Unreal Anthology pack. Though, 15 minutes of googling didn't return any reliable disc images...

this must be a recent thing? pretty cool i have a retail version of ut2k3 but its not on steam id love to add it to my library

Not really. As far as I am aware, only game that really requires CD Key in the physical Unreal Anthology is UT2k4 to play online. It looks like installer of Unreal Anthology needs uses UT2k4 key to install all games. I am certain that all (digital and physical) CD keys of UT2k4 works with Anthology pack vice versa.

I tried my UT2k4 key that I have as a Physical on steam and it says it's invalid.
it's a key structured as AAAAA-BBBBB-CCCCC-DDDDD

Sigh... You cannot activate the game on Steam; you can use Steam version's CD Key with retail version as well as retail Unreal Anthology pack.

I used the UT2004 Registry Fixer to input my CD key, and it worked. Maybe you could try that.
