Unreal Tournament 2004

Unreal Tournament 2004

Is there any way to install this game if I own a hard copy/ cd key (no optical drive on laptop)
Unreal tourney has always been my favorite game. I own both 2003 and 2004 on hard copy disks. I just purchased a mild gaming laptop, so i should be able to easily run this game. But my laptop doesn't have an optical drive. Is there any way to install the game??? External optical drive costs more than the price on steam.

You should just buy it on Steam/GOG

Maybe try to save the content of CD to some .iso or other format on hard drive on some other computer with optical drive (if you have some friend or other contact). And then mount it as virtual hard drive through some programs, like Daemon tools. Windows 10 already can mount virtual CDs.

Or just buy it on digital store, like Steam or Gog.

I think the physical version uses StarForce or some crappy DRM that doesn't work with Windows 10

This has it too, just go in the install directory and look for UnrealEd.exe

You can use every game version when you have a valid key. You also don't need to "install" the game, just put everything in the right folders and add your key and the right folder path to the registry.

If you need more, write me a PM on that forum, or on discord.

Getting "UT99" working properly in Windows 10.

The Problem I had:

I have 3 computers that I recently upgraded to windows 10. UT99 ran great in windows 7, but I'm not having much luck in windows 10. Basically the game starts with a black background, then I see blue "precaching" and nothing else happens. I hear the background music, but no graphics. I tried all changing the graphics types from D3D to openGL, software, none will work. The only way I can get it to work is when I relaunch it, it gives the error that it did not run properly and give the open to run in safe mode. That actually will load and run, but is windowed and I can only get a max of 800X600 resolution. I thought that safe mode basically runs the software rendering so I dont' know why it wont run at least in software rendering. Can someone help me out? UT99 still rox and I want to be able to play it!

---------------

Now I have "UT99" with windows 10 on 3 machines. try changing your render.

Get latest open "gl render and d3d9 renderer" = http://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/
