Problem with multiplayer I guess

Just bought UT2004, but the game says it can't connect to the internet because of Firewall and I can find help in a readme that has nothing in it that would help me with the problem. Any help please? I don't really feel like straight up turning off Firewall.

You can allow a single trusted program manually through the firewall settings, aka you don't have to turn off entire firewall just allow unreal tournament alone to get through it and then i guess just avoid playing on shady looking servers

Right I was thinking there has to be something like that i just couldn't find the thing. I'll look into it.

I know there's a way to fix it, but I don't remember.

There's something in the .ini files that you have to edit.

Well i guess that must be it since I gave Firewall an exception for Unreal and it still doesn't work...

its a bit of a hassle, but it is a common issue with a fix. That should do it for you.

Yeah I already actually found this guide and fixed the issue. I have no idea why I didn't just search how to fix ut2004 network error in google in the first place. Thx for the help anyways.
