Gamespy ID wont work

Just bought UT3 on steam sale. Recovered my Gamespy ID password and still wont accept my login in UT3. Even tried creating a new one and same deal... It keeps forwarding me to an IGN login page. Is it even worth the effort? Sounds like UT3 died.

just use whatever you use to play borderlands or borderlands 2, if you have them. type them slowly.that helps me.

Found a work around. Just create a unique user name and pass with an email that hasn't been associated with gamespy before right from the UT3 login screen. Logged in at 6:40am EST and played a quick CTF round before I head in to work so I'm hopeful about how populated this game still is.

it works
you have to create a new profile with your gamespy username and password and email first
thats what i did i entered my gamespy id into the create profile fields

Ok if nothing has worked in this thread its cause changing your password on ign doesnt change your gamespy id password even though it links you to the page of ign. I had that issue the fix was to dl gamespy comrade, then launch it, and then click on forgot password. It will bring you to a page that gives some warning but enter your email you used for gamespy there. You will receive an email with a link to a page that again gives a warning but allows you to type in a new password. Do so and remember the new password! Get back on unreal and enter the info of your gamespy account into create profile. If all goes well it should work now.

I DL'd GSArcade as the stupid Comrade hangs under my Win7 x64. It didn't work anyway.
Both MY emails report as already in use and the change in the profile in Arcade makes no diff. UT still says invalid pass =(

Your telling me its stupid i had to go to that measure to get my old account working again. I had comrade installed cause of old direct 2 drive games installing through it so it was a touch more convenient then creating a new email and gamespy id for me. They really do need to ditch it considering the whole system is broken in a big way.

What is the point of gamespy? All it does is to annoy players. If it's to find players, you can do that in game too.

In Saints Row 2 you need a GameSpy Account too and they delete accounts if you don't log in for a long time.

You failed at something...
Load UT3, At login screen click create profile button near bottom right of screen
in user name make up a user name that wouldnt be taken
in password type whatever you want
in email type in a fake email address (ex [e-mail])

I just created another "fake" account... so use it if you want
user = thisisfakeuser8
pass = thisisfakepassword
