Gow do i choose who i play as, i did not do campaign, and i dont know the players but i do want to play as certain looking players like the robots or the aliens,

Thanks! But it only shows the names not the characters themselves right? Is there somewhere that has pictues and names of all the characters?

The "Player" tab allows you to see your character name but if you look at the bottom you'll see a "Customize Character" button. This will bring up an editor that allows you edit (or crate a new) character appearance. For new characters, you need to select your faction (Iron Guard, Ronin, Krall, Necris etc...) and skin first before you see what your character will look like.

Do i need to make any account or play multiplayer?

You'd be editing your multiplayer / instant action character. You can edit your character in offline mode but I'd make an online account since that's its main purpose.
