UT3 Patch Allows You to Play After Gamespy Shutdown

Please note: Steam already has the patch included in the installation file.

As you may have heard, Gamespy is shutting down this weekend. We want to be sure you’re still able to play Unreal Tournament 3 Multiplayer. Thanks to community member Shambler, we have a patch that will allow you to continue playing. We also want to thank all of the server admins and other community members who have helped test the patch to be sure it’s ready to go. (We’re looking at you Bubbaxm2 and Hedsteem!)

IMPORTANT TECHNICAL STUFFS: This “patch” is actually a replacement executable that will direct you to the new Unreal Tournament 3 master server which we have moved to the Epic Games server bank along with the Unreal Tournament 99 and Unreal Tournament 2004 servers.

Once you have the new .exe and go to log on it will tell you that username and password are wrong. You will need to recreate any and all of your usernames on the new master server as all of the ones you have registered on Gamespy will go away with Gamespy. You can use the same names as before and even the same passwords, you just need to have them registered on the new server now instead of Gamespy.

Can this post get updated? It would be nice to let the original post but you should make a text above saying that the steam version of this game already has the patch.

The reason why ppl request this patch is because i think they dont see any players online.... The truth is that this game is probably dead so atmost no one plays it anymore (in my opinion). Go play Unreal Tournament 4 instead. Its free to play and also its completly free with no pay 2 win elements.

Btw you wont find it on steam. You have to go to the official website.

Hello thanks but the patch tells me that there is a lack of a file in order to run I have Unreal Tournament 3 Black Edition

You will have to read the instructiuons on how to install it properly to get it to work, but once again, if you have the steam version, you do not need it and may do more harm than good trying to.

He can activate his key on steam if he wants.

I have the version of steam you say that it is not necessary the patch but wanting to access create an account tells me that the online service is not available then you have to do

Make sure the game is set to automatically stay updated and verify the integrity of the local game cache. That will usually take care of it. If not just replace the exe in the bianries folder with the one from the patch if want.

Check the integrity of the cache and tells me that this correct then pordiras indicate that file should I replace in order to play online, and the game is updated the purchased just yesterday

If you have never been able to log on then I would give it a try i guess.
