UT3 Patch Allows You to Play After Gamespy Shutdown

Please note: Steam already has the patch included in the installation file.

As you may have heard, Gamespy is shutting down this weekend. We want to be sure you’re still able to play Unreal Tournament 3 Multiplayer. Thanks to community member Shambler, we have a patch that will allow you to continue playing. We also want to thank all of the server admins and other community members who have helped test the patch to be sure it’s ready to go. (We’re looking at you Bubbaxm2 and Hedsteem!)

IMPORTANT TECHNICAL STUFFS: This “patch” is actually a replacement executable that will direct you to the new Unreal Tournament 3 master server which we have moved to the Epic Games server bank along with the Unreal Tournament 99 and Unreal Tournament 2004 servers.

Once you have the new .exe and go to log on it will tell you that username and password are wrong. You will need to recreate any and all of your usernames on the new master server as all of the ones you have registered on Gamespy will go away with Gamespy. You can use the same names as before and even the same passwords, you just need to have them registered on the new server now instead of Gamespy.

Yes, gamespy has extended the service till the end of htis month so you will still be able to log in, you just may not see all of the servers.

What will you guys do that in future new players find the way into the game? We can't expect them to find this site here first.... Even I was not familiar with this site, I saw the notification by pure luck, I am not even sure that I will find my way back to this site, I landed here after clicking around in Steam.

Main question:

IS THE NEW .EXE ALREADY INTEGRATED IN THE NORMAL STEAM DOWNLOAD OF UT3?

When will Steam update my game so that I see all servers?

Not sure, that is up to them but I would guess later in the month now that gamepsy is still running till the end of the month.

Steam updated UT3 as well automatically some mintues ago, now I can't login , it is not accepting my password and I shall go to gamespyid.com ......

I probably should try to do it manually: I see so many links, WHICH ONE IS THE LINK TO THE EXE I NEED FOR THE REPLACEMENT?

(both firefox and explorer warn me about entering www.gamespyid.com, and when ignoring and entering I have no clue which fantasy email address I did type in 6 years ago)
