i know this is exactly what meta mouse said not to do. but its been driving me crazy.

i have beaten the game, and turned every stone, but found the meta mouse key far too late in the game and there's no way for me to return to the house at this point. i dont want to play 60% of the game again just to see whats behind the door. pls help someone free me from these chains.

Whoa, there is an actual key? I figured it was just a meta joke, and impossible to open.

Where is the door? I found the key but not the door, and I think this is the only secret I couldn't find.

It's in the slums district (first one past the entry gate), jump on the cans to get to the roofs, and you can jump into the chimney there.

Yeah, you can find guards talking about somebody "stroking a portrait of a ferret" this is in reference to the portrait of "Cheesecake, opener of doors, and refuser of hugs". After hearing this dialogue you can find a "Mystery Key" - I believe this opens the door to the Secret Item. However, instead of finding it when Siobhan is assistant to the Plague Doctor, I found it before the final boss. Meaning that when I try to leave, I get the dialogue box "I'm not leaving yet." and I don't have a save before that point :(

zamn. the one thing i missed. oh well, I got everything else and combat had become fairly easy at that point

Damn, missed this myself. Never knew where the key was but it does sound like a satisfying resolution so that's good to hear.

When you're playing as Sio, visit the ferret portrait with the key's around it's neck. You can snag it then.

You can also grab it much later, but then you can't use it. xD
