Is there a way to cap the game to 60 fps?
So my GPU wouldn't be going full on 100% to have the game running at 500 fps...

isn't there a vsync or max frame rate option? have a look ---> yes there is, i just checked. otherwise, use your gpu's control panel to manually force a refresh rate. don't risk burning out your gpu.

vsync didn't work in window mode. Hence why I asked here.

I had to use some specific software to cap it. Even the regular control panel couldn't force it.

VSync option doesn't seem to wanna work ingame, so I had to change it in my NVidia settings thing.

I used Nvidia inspector.

RTSS
Unreal Engine has supported frame capping since I believe the very first one. Look into the .ini file and set the framelimit to "true" or so and also add a desired value to it.

Vsync in game did not work.
Forcing vsync through the Nvidia Control Panel did not work.
Adding framelimit=60 to Unreal2.ini and User.ini did not work.

This however, did work:

I used Nvidia inspector.

* Get Invidia Inspector
* Launch it and click the tools button next to "Driver Version"
* Click the little arrow next to the house and select Unreal 2
* Set Frame Rate Limiter to desired frame rate
* Click apply changes in the upper right hand corner
* Launch game and enjoy not destroying your graphics card

THANK YOU! :praisesun:

Old Post but
@xym

Without Nvidia Inspector

https://github.com/crosire/d3d8to9/releases/tag/v1.11.0
copy d3d8.dll into Unreal2.exe folder

Unreal2.ini

[D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice]
UseVSync=True
DesiredRefreshRate=60

So you can also use SMAA or FXAA [ReShade] in old DX8 Games.
