How do I speed up the game?
It's a little boring waiting on 600 items to travel down the conveyors, is it designed to always run at the same speed and never increase?

The speed can be increased in the upgrades panel. You have to deliver the goal shapes then you get credits to increase the speed of belts and machines.

600? Have fun waiting for 25000 items (cut and rotated and painted then stacked together again) to arrive at the hub.

As Coops said, you can upgrade the speeds of conveyors and machines. And the game map is HUGE, so you can use multiple sources to scale up your production.
Understood thank you for the help.

It's the top mod if you're into that.

Mod. 2X speed

I found out from the later levels onwards (when you're waiting for around 15k+ shapes) that if you're having to wait, you're probably doing things either too small a scale, or doing them inefficiently.

I reaslised it's basically part of the game and the 'difficulty' is the number of shapes you have to make - and this caused me to think bigger and differently. Being my first time my very messy map I found out was not optimal for later levels as I was doing things adhoc and solving tasks using different parts of the map. I should have specialised earlier.

If you know how to code, you can easily change the mod from 2x speed to 10x to 100x speed. Doesn't always work (will sometimes default back to 2x for a few seconds, before picking back up to a very high speed)

the game is about efficiency, i can make 1 little machine and crank the speed and win but the game is designed so that you look for the best strategy to get it out the quickest, a mod takes away the reason for the game.

I would go one step further. I'm only at level20 (don't know how many lvls are in the game, so please don't spoiler), but at this time for me its way to less Items to deliver. Sometimes 50k and only one mission with a delivery-rate of 8.

In my oppinion it would be way more interesting to increase the amount by 10. To deliver a complex shape 80 pieces/s would be a very interesting task, so I hope the game become so difficult in the lategame, as the map is large enough to handle that. can't wait!

These "upgrades" don't even do much. It states it increases the speed by a significant factor each time but all it does is put a 10% increase in each. Huge waste of time
Upgrades become less effective later on, and the game is also capped by your hardware and performance settings.

On my highest level game my belts are upgraded to level 50, get 0.05% per upgrade, and push 22.2 items per second.
Same game, my cutting/rotating/stacking is upgraded to level 90 and only gets 0.03% per upgrade.

BUT my tick rate is set at 30 (for performance, since the game can really bog down when you have hundreds of thousands of components on the map, even with a solid gaming system) and even though my belts SAY they do 22.2, I only actually get 15 even. If I upgrade the tick to 60 then the belts push about 20 items per second.
