Save game corrupt and can not be restored
Good day gents,

After 15 hours or so I finally beat / unlocked level 20. Afterwards I got the tutorial for the wires and I immeadiatly noticed a lag or sluggishness whilst looking at my factory. No problems from level 1 through 19, Unfortunately within 10 minutes the screen shifted to a dark gray, music playing but unresponsive. After a restart of the game I tried to load the safe file and received the message in the title.

The factory was pretty small (I deleted most of the production lines due to the shift in upgrade requirements arond 15 minutes before). Does anyone have a solution or should I buckle down for another 15 hours (which does not sound too bad).

On the face of it, no. Probably not recoverable. Looks like your game might have crashed in the middle of an autosave.

The thing I'm wondering is: if you do buckle down for another 15 hours (wheee!) does the same problem happen AGAIN? If it does, then that first crash probably wasn't a fluke--it might be something wrong with your computer.

"Have you checked if the game file is lost from the save folder?"
Yes I have and there is a save file in the AppData/Roaming on the day and time of the crash. Perhaps it was not able to completely save or finish the process.

My thoughts exactly. I do run a pretty nice gaming PC (can run most high end AAA games on max settings) so I do not believe it is an issue on my end but I can be wrong. Nevertheless I do like the game enough to try again and will update this thread if the issue reoccurs.
Don't hold your breath, could take a couple of days.

This also happened to me. Now I make a copy of the save file every time I complete something. Eventually, I delete old save file copies but always keep a couple around. The 2nd go round on the game is much faster than the first and I know I, at least, ended up with a much nicer layout.
