Vertigo Remastered

My Vertigo experience so far
First time: opened up the cabin door, walked inside, found a lighter and two locked doors but no key, went back to the front door, tried to get the key back out of it like an idiot, wandered back inside, looked around some more, walked outside to the chairs, encountered an invisible wall, walked down the road, encountered an invisible wall, but only so far down the road that I would have to walk all the way back again, was overcome with motion sickness and called it a day.

Second time: decided I was going to try again, clicked "continue", watched the cute kitty intro, got stuck in a black screen

Third time: decided I was going to try again, clicked "continue", watched the cute kitty intro, got stuck in a black screen

I think I'm not having the best Vertigo experience possible so far. Any tips that might help me have an even better time would be appreciated.

What are your system specs? Which headset?

Does it really make a difference what my system specs are? I surpass the recommended setup. Running on Index and Windows 10.

Black screen on Continue could be a checkpoint bug because you're still in the Intro? Try starting a new game instead.

To start the game proper, you have to use the lighter to start up the fireplace. This is suggested by the person calling you when you get out of the car.

I will try that, but I wouldn't expect that sort of bug in a released and remastered game tbh. And I was still trying to figure out where that noise was coming from when I should have listened. Don't know what a fireplace has to do with locked doors, but thanks.

The only door you have to unlock is the entrance to the cabin to get to the fireplace, the other door is decorative.

The dude on the phone literally tells you that he left some wood in the fireplace, and you find a lighter on the fireplace, what do you think you need to do? :drlivesey:

Yeah, I had to turn down the settings too. Initially it was a stutter fest.

For anyone else stuck at the same place: you have to pick up the lighter with the Grip button instead of the Trigger button, otherwise you can't turn it on.

Really strange design oversight from the devs there.
