A question please
I just encountered the tropical isle and building the cloths for heat and I discovered I had run out of hides. I have not seen one drop in some time. Do animals on the first local respawn? Thanks

I have not made one yet to try, but you can make a sleeping bag under the tailoring workbench and sleep in it, it reads that it respawns mobs (animals and monsters) OR in the settings>gameplay there is a setting to respawn mobs on log in.

If you don't have the hides to craft what you want, you likely won't have the hides to craft a sleeping bag, your best bet is to scrap all of your old gear in the shredder to get back all the leather scrap you can and make a sleeping bag and respawning all of the mobs, I had the exact same issue, had to destroy the gear I was using cause I had 0 pelts

To my understanding, crops and rocks/ores don't come back, only monsters, If you want more crop you just plant them like crazy and fill up chests of the stuff, and for ores there are mobs that drop broken gear, you break that gear down into scrap metal and smelt that into bars. As for stone, I have no idea how you get more stone, but there's so much of it anyway you could probably fill 15 tier3 chests with the stuff

Edit: if you lose your magic blueberry seeds somehow they're gone for good, they turn into garbage like everything else, no getting them back, so be careful.
Edit3: scratch that, I've been told blueberry seeds don't turn into garbage.

Edit2: Things like Dates and Bananas can't be renewed unfortunately, I think there's a finite amount of them, would be a wise idea to save some dates and bananas incase they update it to let you grow trees

If I recall correctly, the tropical isle monkeys can drop hide (if you venture deeper into the isle there are darker colored monkeys and I think I got pelts from them)

You don't need to scrap anything. There is an option in the game settings to make all of the animals and enemies respawn every time you log in. If you don't want them to keep respawning every time you leave the game just remember to turn that option off again once you get into the game.

Edit: I just realized the date on this post. For some reason it was at the top for me so I thought it was new.
