Am I just too stupid for this game?
I have started the game in normal mode for 7 times now and my record to stay alive is just over 6 minutes. What am I doing wrong?

I find the manual useless because I have received errorcodes that are not in the manual.
The display of the generator is also pointless, if there is a problem, it goes black, so why is it there in the first place? Of the 7 deaths 5 were as a result of the generator failing. Once it does, it's game over for me.

And finally I died once due to hyperthermia and once to hypothermia. Neither of which I could can explain. The temperatur manager appeared to be working after fixing it both times but the temperature still rose/fell regardless....

Hence my question, is this game just broken or am I too stupid for it?

And no, I'm not opening the door, if that's what you are wondering...

If you're reading the manual too much you'll die. You have to know what the critical parts of systems are and how to check and fix them- often without the CRT telling you.
RTFM just once, it's not long and it's quite simple, have it open on the error code page if you need it in a pinch.

If you try to turn a system on and after a second you hear a click and it turns off, the fuse is dead.
If you take the fuse out and turn it on, you may get electrocuted or take extra damage if your reactor goes nuts... but it works in a pinch.
If the switch does nothing, the switch is dead.
If the CRT never turns on, it could be the transformer or the power connector (try putting a battery in).
If everything seems to be working but oxy/co2/temp isn't changing as you'd expect ... well the pump or filter or bottle might be broken or full or empty... or there might not be enough power still...
If the power keeps going mental, it's probably the CPU on the reactor... you should turn it off, switch critical systems to battery power, and fix the reactor as fast as possible - you cannot survive for long on batteries. (There was a bug where you *had* to use the reactor CPU with the reactor, but I believe this is now fixed)

If you're really up against it and you need time to find an error code, you can always press escape and look at the .pdf instead.

I struggled the first few times, barely getting to 10 minutes, but after a while you can easily get to 40+ mins, and well over an hour once you really know what you're doing and how to be mega efficient.

Broken components are usually black, or much darker than normal - this can be difficult to notice on emergency lighting, and it's more efficient to replace a component than to fix a component by leaching parts from another one... but a 99% hp component is usually not good enough, if it's critical it has to be 100%.

Sandbox mode is ideal for learning & experimenting. Summoning events are possible too.

Doesn’t matter anymore. Apparently I am too stupid. I have therefore refunded already.

No, i think that you not know learn by danger situation without help by game.

That is a certain way to say “too stupid” practice and watching let play make perfect, the later is what I am doing, but I suspose if you enjoy other games might as well not worry about it.
