Damaged Battery
So.. can someone give me an example of how I repair a battery?

Taking care of your batteries might be strategically the better way than repairing them. However, there are many ways to play Tin Can and I'm not experienced enough to give valuable strategic advice.

To the question:
In order to repair batteries or other components, you first have to dismantle other components in order to collect enough spare parts for the repair in the repair station. Then the battery can be inserted and repaired.

I hope this answers your question, because I'm not quite sure if I understand it correctly, since you explicitly ask for battery repair.

Theoretically, if you dismantle something, you cannot use that item again, correct? This is one thing about the game that makes it more survival-ish than anything, and for me, difficult and frustrating to play. I know it's EA and there are many elements in development. But I think it'd be more fun to have items in the pod that perhaps are completely useless, with the sole purpose for us to deconstruct them (at first before you have to go for the necessities). Are there machines or gauges that could maybe be irrelevant that could be implemented?

That is correct. Once a component is dismantled, it is unserviceable for the moment. However, it could be repaired, reassembled so to speak. How useful that is, that's another story. The repair will cost more spare parts than you get from dismantling it.
If there were parts in the pod that were only good for dismantling, then the balancing would be off. However, the possibility of collecting space debris to use it for repairs has already been discussed. I am a fan of the idea.
Let's see how the game develops when new systems, mechanics, etc. are added. I am eager to find out.

Has a precautionary measure remove all batteries first before events begin.

We could definitely add some useless stuff for you guys to dismantle.
Do not hesitate to come and post it in suggestion on our Discord ;)

No. Cosmetic. :steamfacepalm: However they might be removed over time to allow space for other things. Good stuff on the way.

I have to say I never expected players to want to dismantle the chairs but you're not the first one to ask so we'll think about it :D !

It would be nice if those storage bins had some spare parts in them. I'd think an escape pod would have a few extra fuses, batteries as well as some general spare parts to throw in the repair module.

Makes sense. Still in EA however.

I get the impression that the owner of the ship did not maintain the escape pods very well, or the rest of the ship either. They probably took away the pod spare parts to use in repairs in the ship! 8-}

I do like the idea of a few spares, though, so that new players can live long enough to figure out how to play the game...

Hey guys.

Past communication with the Devs have indicated & led me to believe that certain aspects of the game whether added &/or missed had there reasons in doing so. One EG is leaving storage space.

Those reasons were to help with a quicker launch of the game.

However during more recent conversations the Devs have assured us that things they originally wanted included will be added which most likely will cover concerns players have at present.
