I just came to the Discussions to bring this up, I spent multiple HOURS trying to do this mission and the A.I just gets stuck on the final turn.
Happened to me too. What I did was moved my units back so the front dark elf force unit got ambushed. After helping them, that seemed to get them moving for me.
You can also look in the Mod Collection in the guide tab, as I'm pretty sure you can download a file or something that lets you skip the mission.
Your saving grace is that the AI love to attack and will even disregard pathing issues to get to enemy units. This is how I finished the level... once I got to the turn near the end I waited for the right ambush to spawn and kept the fighters healed until they all made it past the turn. Then, I killed the enemy and they managed to path just enough to spawn the final ambush to complete the mission.
Allow all of the archer units to die as soon as they get separated enough from the fighters that the fighters will stop trying to turn around to save them.
To avoid the bug where all units are stuck at the cliff in the start, is by always staying behind the main dark elf force. After that, pray that an enemy spawns further in at the last turn so the AI pathfinding will follow it into the cave. If all else fails, download the mod in the guides section.
EMDream has it right, with the idea of two archers. Or cavalry will do. The point here is that you'll need a lot of SP and healing trees to keep things going. It's a long battle. RTS became a puzzle game. The massive difference in this battle compared to all others, is that you are entire not in control of the flow of battle. That is decided by the main force of the AI. Your actions are purely responsive and as support units.
THIS
I can't get into Urukubarr's campaign because of this.
This hasn't worked for me. I let all units die but one and those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ won't move. Enemies just keep spawning until they are all dead. I have no issues keeping them alive.
that mission is really exhausting.
I upload my game. I hope it will help you.
I don't know why that bug didn't happen to me.
I'll tell you why because at 15:56 in your video the perfect ambush happened that drove the AI around the corner. It was pure luck I had to wait 15 mins for that very same ambush.
