Achilles: Legends Untold is a soulslike, so it's different from the games you mentioned.
I'm pretty sure you'll like the ancient Greek setting. The combat is more strategic than in Hades, but it's really enjoyable and has a bunch of aspects to learn and use against your opponents. While the game isn't a rougelike, dying is also a common thing and a part of the experience here, so you can expect that too. Of course, the game's still in early access so it will evolve and grow over time. I'd recommend to watch some recent gameplay, if you liked Hades you really might enjoy Achilles too.
I picked it up, finished what was available for quests and explored the entire map... Definitely have potential with this game, I enjoyed it. Some of those Rifts were tricky to close, by the way!
Though.. The Hoplite Shield is far and away the most powerful of all the current shields (at least the ones I picked up.. not sure if the equipment handouts are random or not), including the legendary one you get from Hephaestus. Almost seems like a mistake for it being a rare shield.., but please don't nerf it.. Either make it a Mythic rarity (which I suspect it is supposed to be), or increase stats on future Epic and Mythic shields.
I do have one question... Is anything affected from killing or sparing bosses? I know you get equipment for killing them, but is there a plan to have it affect the story further down the line, or is it just a player preference thing?
