What weapon do you use and what do you do, to make combat more interesting?

I resolved to use spear now. It has better range and gives a bit better crowd control, which seems quite annoying at times.

Too many enemies are a real problem. It seems the game gives you no real crowd control skills so far.

So you just retread and poke at everyone who follows you :D

But overall its quite dull so far. I love the artstyle and its not unfun. But i cant imagine it will stay fun for 20+ hours.

I just cleared a thief hideout and that could have been a bit smaller tbh.

spear is the best weapon now, before 2 handed sword was the gold standard but they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it and dual wield together

I usually would use a one hand sword. But you miss most of the time. The range is too bad.

You get pinned quite fast so keep your distance and poke away with the spear seems to be the way to go indeed.

I still dont have cool skills so far. Shield trow and kick are basically worthless compared to just normal attacks.

Edit: i upgraded the wolf shield which does better damage and found a spear thrust that is pretty good for crowds.

I also have the second skill unlocked. Its getting a bit better :3

I stuck with spear and two skills for all the rest of the game. Made me pretty untouchable. With the live and mana leech you barely need to use potions.

Pretty fun overall.

My favorite are spears followed by axes. Swords, as stated, have a reach problem. I don't like the two-handed swords.

Spears seems indeed the most effective weapon. It's too easy with them so I now play Axes. Still really easy but less forgiving.
