How to control one player in fifa tournament or kick off?

want to play a tournament (or kick off) with managing a GK (or a player) only. But I can't lock the controls to one player (I'm not sure it's a thing or not, that's why I'm asking). I want to use him manually and the AI will take the rest. Is there any option in the game?
