No horror, no true terror, just "normal".
Yes, normal; dogs in a different coat, ape/cat thingies, "Uu-Maans" in various outfits, just far too normal.

Which, IMHO, is so very UNBeautiful Light, seeing that "God" is around, no?

Why not say add the statue that will move when you lose eye contact and will snap your neck, or have some soccer ball floating around that, when you encounter it, might or might not take your character over and have you kill nearby team mates, or just something total mind-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you, like suddenly seeing a "My Little Pony" ... but REAL!!!, which should not be there, no?

Or, you know, like, when you have an AWESOME day, but at 21.00H, you feel something crawling up on you?
And when it does, you know, yeah, here it is ... the "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!!!"?

Or, "catching a "Poltergeist", a totally invisible entity, which follows you, but does not hurt you, it just let you hear things, but always at logical places (like clicking a keyboard where computers are, but no one being there, and not in say the middle of a forest, as that is nutters. No, a SMART Poltergeist. And which, might, just might, make a scream that is a combination of Black Noize with a scream, an animal howl, a siren, and howling wind, and this extremely abrupt and immediately at peak volume, for 2 seconds, and then to equally abruptly just ... is not there at all ... only silence (volume 0% in-game for a bit))?

Or, a Spore that allows you to see certain anomalies (one specific type, but randomly rotating, so it is never the same if you happen upon it.)?
Alas ... it also makes you see your team mates as this anomaly the spores grant you to see/detect ... , darn... how unfortunate...?

Or, a "flower scent" (a gas) that will horribly slowly (within 5 seconds, which probably will look for ages in the player's mind) gruesomely mutilate you, and unless a fellow comrade saves you, will kill you?
Sadly, the wounds obtained are not reversable for that round.

Of course, if that friend forgets to take a pill against this toxin before getting to you, in the stress of it all... will also be affected by said gas pocket... which in reality is another type entity.

Also, depending on the "roll of the dice", there might be few of these "Hellbenders", or, when you got a bit unlucky, they just might ALL be there, just overwhelming the map, and OF COURSE... all this... randomly.
Since, what is the fun, when you expect something, know what is where?
I mean, erratic inconsistency that is unforeseeably variable in its unpredictable yet realistic nature (Why does bad ALWAYS come in multiple forms at once???) ... is the most fun, right?
I mean, imagine yourself being chased by a patch of grass that loves to have a chew on you, while you’re under the influence of the Spores, and running straight into a "gas-pocket"?
Like, in our world, running from a bee squad chasing you because you accidentally disturbed a beehive you did not see in time, but your running scared a boar that joins into the frantic chase?
But, DANG IT ... you run into a mommy bear with a cub and startled both, the scaring the cub and making mommy "a bit annoyed" making her cub scream in fear.
You change direction, but 20 meters further you fall of a cliff you had not noticed as you were checking the three enemies.
YEAH MAN, that is FUN right there!!!
Since, that is what reality sadly is ... "unfair".

I mean, the options are endless.
