Co - Op Feedback for the devs
First of all, I want to express my gratitude for this incredible experience. Thank you so much!

Now, regarding my feedback:

1. **Player 2 (Goat) Unable to Change Fleece**: This limitation causes frustration for Player 2 and reduces the variety in builds between the two players.

2. **Player 2 (Goat) Cannot Initiate "Return to Cult" Function**: It's unclear why this is restricted, but it negatively impacts the gameplay experience for Player 2.
****
2.1*Edit : Player 2 (Goat) also Wont spawn in the sacrifice white plan when dying on a crusade, regardless of who dies first. Lamb (player 1) Will always be the only one who spawns , and the only one who makes the choise. This in fact might be even more
frustrating for Player 2 (Goat)

3. **Demon (Sacrificed Followers) Mechanics**: When followers are turned into demons, they do not follow Player 2 (Goat) even if multiple followers are converted.

4. **Missing Visual Effects**: The purple icon FX on the Goat's hat is missing its bloom effect.

5. **Controller Issues**: There are multiple bugs related to controller functionality, including continuous vibrations, missing vibrations, binding issues, and problems with the configuration file.

6. **Base/Cult Management in Two-Player Mode**:
- While the concept is fantastic, it has a significant flaw. Any action taken by Player 1 interrupts whatever Player 2 is doing, even in the middle of an interaction, and vice versa.
- This results in players constantly waiting for one another, as if the game only recognizes one input at a time, despite having two players.
- Allowing both players to interact with followers, chop trees, plant deposits, sell, harvest bodies, etc., would greatly enhance the flow of gameplay. Essentially, giving each player 90% autonomy in their actions would enable simultaneous cult management.
- I realize this might be a daunting task, but I felt it was important to mention. I understand that certain actions, like building and base editing, may require exclusive control by one player. However, for most other actions, it should be possible to enable simultaneous interactions.

While the current implementation is already quite enjoyable, there is potential for improvement. The main limitation might be screen space, which could be addressed with a dynamic split-screen similar to LEGO games. However, I acknowledge that this might be an unnecessary overcomplication.

Lastly, I haven’t had the chance to revive myself during a run yet, but I hope that both Lamb and Goat will be able to choose which follower to sacrifice. If not, this might need to be added to the list!

Thank you again for this AMAZING update. This is truly one of the best games I’ve ever played.

Edit :
Hopefully , you will take this feedback to heart & fix/ make these small changes , as it is clear from the 30 or so hours ive played coop how much thought was put into the 2 player mechanics , from the purple loading screen , to camera movements. So much attention to detail to let player 2 have the whole experience, it would be a shame to let this (relatively) small setbacks to throw off balance players 2 gameplay experience.

I know a bug I found trying it out today.
There seemed to have been no way for the second player to choose Keyboard and mouse, as well as another interesting bug...
That the host had to play as Player 2.
While for feedback, I do kinda wish the other player could do things while the other is in a menu for cooking, etc. Even if that just meant they could move their character, cleaning poop, etc. While the GUI for the menu being mostly transparent.

local co-op is really cool(should've been online because remote play is buggy af), but it feels half-baked, def needed more time in the oven

it needs online multiplayer, streaming services are not as good unfortunately, and steam remote is A$$

The biggest issue I've had with co-op is how cult management is handled. Since only one player can really do anything at a time, it makes the other player useless. This leads to a lot of times where the person I'm playing with doesn't do anything at all in the cult side of things because it has no point or because we keep interrupting each other. I'll be trying to build something but they talk to someone which then stops me from building until they're done which takes away the "helped build X" faith bonus

Also it just feels punishing to talk to your cultist because the other player has no choice but to sit down their controller and just watch you. So the longer you take, the less control and fun they have.

Yeah, the cult management part of the coop gameplay needs to have a look on. Like mentioned, being forced to constantly wait for your partner to finish their thing before doing a thing yourself or just straight up AFKing while one go and Bless/Inspire/Intimidate followers etc..

It's my main issue, at least.

Massive has stated this multiple times when the feature for coop to be restricted to couch coop was announced.

It is true... Co op and online co op is more complex than most people think .
Steam remote play is your best option , or play with your girlfriend / brother friends tgat live close by , or take a drive to a friends house .

I take a couple hours drive once a month to a friend for a game night exactly for games like that

Here are some issues that I have with co-op as someone that started a brand new game as co-op and played the whole thing like 90% co-op

1. Beating the One who waits leads to a HARD crash. Like I got some loading screen of the red crown with a blue loading bar and then it was back to desktop. It then saved afterwards but still, it wasn't pleasant

2. The goat (or co-op partner) can't use custom controls on their controller. They could the *first* time we played, but when we booted up to play again it messed up their controls and ever since then we've had to use a normal layout. The problem with it is that everytime we book the game back up and use the co-op partner their controls don't register anymore. They can still move and such, but all the prompts show up as "--" "Press -- to.." The only way around that is to always go back to their controls and set it to another layout and then back again

3. We have 2+ Yarlen's and EVERY SINGLE DAY the game tries to give us another Yarlen. If we accept them it just messes up the ones we already have and it's causing chaos. It's also really SUPER annoying to lose 25 faith every single day because I'm not accepting that quest anymore. I also know that it has a follow up quest but we'll never get it because it's stuck on just giving us Yarlen's

4. What really is annoying in combat is that the resurrect your co-op partner button is tied to your dodge roll button. So like 80% of the time either one of us are dodge rolling to get away from the enemies on screen or something else and then we accidentally roll into one another and end up resurrecting the other. This isn't something that we desire a lot of the time because we don't always need to resurrect as it costs the player a heart to do so. Sometimes we just need to finish the fight with the better equipped player or the room is almost finished and we'd get revived anyways but now we lost a heart doing so

5. The screen zooms out A LOT when you're in the base which makes it a lot harder to select and do stuff in the base as the more things get zoomed out the more the interactions start merging into one another

6. I swear that we're taking phantom damage but can't prove it. There's a lot of times I've been just standing there or I'm like 80% sure is a safe place and then I just take damage

I'm sure there's more but I can't remember it all at the moment

I do know that we have to quit to the main screen and come back into the game every couple days or thing sin the cult get all funky

Same here. Was trying to rebind dodge roll and experinced exactly this bugs.

We had to end playthrough due to the game freezing several times (the game works, but both players cannot press anything).
The worst thing is that the game saves resources and statuses, but not progress. Therefore, when we re-entered the game, we rolled back to the beginning of the day without the resources that we had.

The fix for custom controls is to reset all settings to default each time you boot the game . and re bind everything .
4. - you just need to bind your interact and dodge to different controls , that simple.
As for the limitation of goat , thats up for the devs to add

These fixes aren't very user friendly, especially if you do a LOT of customer control changes. That would require over 20+ rebinds each match

As for your "fix" for number 4, that doesn't work if you can't use custom binds nor do either one of us want to rebind a ton of keys each time we want to play. PLUS they're using the default controls and running into this issue. That's the problem, you shouldn't be having said problems with the default controls and the fix isn't just to do custom controls

Also when we tried to reset things to default before it reset the ENTIRE game to default, like all the settings video, audio etc etc. It took a long time to go through everything and set it back the way it's supposed to be for us. We were on the control section editing the controls and there was a option to "reset to default" which just reset the whole game to default, not the controls which is kinda silly. It also didn't fix their controller issue with being able to rebind stuff, it just made it worse by having to do more work on our end for nothing

Lastly, there's like 4 different interact buttons in the controls and it's not like we know which one you change changes what as they all just say interact.

Yes it isnt user friendly , I spend 5 minutes re confoguring everything .
I did it so many times That i remember ot by heart -
:
Difficulty meduim - hard
Graphics - 1080p - 2160p
Fps - 60 - infinite
V sync off
Fullscreen - borderless windowed
Ultra settings
Music +3
Voice over -1
Screen shake 50%
Pause time on crusade
Force weapon blade
[ x2( do this once for controller 1 and the 2nd time for controller 2 )
Dodge A
Curse B
Heavy Y
Attack X
Fleece ability RB
Bleep RB
Return to cult RS
Track Quest RS
Interact LS (mapped to pedals)
Relic LB
Also added secondary bindings for
Curse LT
Heavy RT

So yeah I spend couple minutes each time though i think i got to the point it takes me.less than a minute to do this each time we boot the game / we reconnect a controller .

If we play for 4 hours id have to do this 2/3 times .

I hope they will fix it
