Tips for getting crystal shards?

It's the one resource I constantly seem to run out of, other than bones, but I can send people on mission for those...I can't for the crystal shards (though the constant missions i have to get extra bones for rituals IS part of why i go through the crystal shards so fast, i seem to have poor luck on the "disturbed by mission" issue even if i got followers at lvl 10 (beyond "high/max" level 5 for missions), with brainwashed, with excited by mission, with missionary necklace, with 100% chance of success constantly....still get disturbed/catatonic a whole lot...either from them actually getting disturbed on mission or the few less than prepared i sent that failed and died, got revived, and went zombie mode).

Is there any better way to get the crystal shards faster than just constantly running anchordeep and hoping i get lucky enough to draw a "natures boon" tarot card early in the run?
