follower left because of sin

could anyone please tell me what the chance of meeting a follower on a crusade who was enraged and left because I took too much sin form them is ?

So far I've run into all the followers i accidentally damned, maybe not immediately but it does seem like it's basically inevitable. Also found out that elderly followers somehow can remain alive out of sheer spite for well over a normal lifespan while they are planning to ambush you on crusades. They don't decide to drop dead until a few seconds after you manage to get them back.
