most , if not all ; have three options and theyre generally going with how they operate in reallife.
male deer has huge horn, female has none, etc
Me I'm getting pretty tired of all the gender fixation people have today.
The main character is a sheep nothing more nothing less.
Giving the "animals" gender will prove or improve nothing.
It's not real, the game is not a depiction of reality
It's fantasy.
The game isn't real ok...
Good point. While I see the point about breeding new followers and bolstering the ranks organically, what's to be done with child followers? Are they useless tag alongs until they come of age? Are they able to be sacrificed? Can you imagine the storm caused in 2022 by being able to sacrifice children in a cult- er, village sim?
Deus Ex, Fallout 1 and 2 and Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 allow you to slaughter children if you so choose because at least (aside from Deus Ex) there are very hefty penalties in-game for doing so and your character will be rightfully villified and attacked on sight - in the case of Fallout, permanently. It does add a degree of immersion and realism, but I think it also assumes players are a little more mature and will not experience the game simply to play out this one scenario.
I personally just don't see it being necessary in Cult, although if the game is moddable that could add a huge amount of replayability and options into the game - including gender specific animal followers and lines of succession if so chosen.
and replay value?
I'm definitely not opposed. Anything that can extend the shelf life of this game would be very welcome.
--Literally nobody, until this thread.
I don't really see a problem with what we have now, and I feel like they left it ambiguous on purpose, where the player can make it up depending on what they see. I wouldn't have a problem with the option to choose, but, again, how would it even be done? What would be the point?
