I haven't played the easiest difficulty, but here's what I can tell you:
:CultEye: You can freely change the difficulty of the game from the settings menu at any time, so you aren't locked to one difficulty. The default is medium difficulty. I actually have bumped mine up to hard once I got used to the combat. There is no punishment for playing it on easy difficulty. :healthyhearthling:
:CultEye: This game is a rogue-lite, which means that dying in combat is an expected part of the game. You might die to a dungeon a bunch of times before you finish it. Since your combat tools are random every run, sometimes you get bad runs and sometimes you get good runs.
:CultEye: Combat is only about 50% of the game, depending on how you play. For me, I really like the colony management part, so I feel like I'm only in combat like 30% of the time. Because I spend so much time in the colony management part, it means I've unlocked plenty of stuff to make my combat stuff a little easier for myself.

In short, the game does have an easier difficulty option if you want it, BUT ALSO, dying is part of the experience and you aren't punished for it. Die as many times as you need to in order to progress, do whatever feels fun. :CultMoon:

sounds good, i just dont want to buy this game and then get stuck because of the battle system

But is it really so that the demo ends every time you die!?

I like the game. And would love to finish the demo without having to start over every time i die i combat :(

It's extremely easy and forgiving

me and my friends agree the game is way too easy outside of Extra Hard, but i can see a lot of reasons why people find Hard too easy wouldn't enjoy extra hard. Extra hard also sucks during the beginning of the game because having you die in 2-3 hits is just anti-fun, regardless of how hard it actually is

I like extra hard in the crusades, but I find the drain on hunger and loyalty to be annoying and not fun. I wish there was a different difficulty for each. I did do the entire game in extra hard, though

You get 4 hearts on easy to start with and you can get more hearts during runs. Normal is 3 hearts. Hard is 2. Ultra hard is 1. Difficulty levels also effect drop rates, so more stuff easy, less stuff hard, including heart drops during runs. Settings also effect the cult management, so easier means they'll gain faith easier and lose loyalty and faith slower. It probably also effects how quickly they get hungry but I'm not sure on that one.

I've been saying the same. The game needs separate difficulties for cult management vs combat. Sure they effect each other but this would better help the game fit all play styles.

But how long is the demo? I think I reached the first boss in my last run. Then I died and was told the demo was over. But I got the same message when I died before I got to the boss to. What I`m I doing wrong?

Not buying the game, is your mistake. The demo is just to get a taste. If you want to play more you need to buy the game. Die or beat the boss and the demo ends. Also this is OT from this thread.

this. Or maybe they should just find more creative ways to punish players in the cult management sim... Which would be possible if not for the fact the cult management is incredibly shallow and barely progresses from being stuck at the very fundamentals and basics, when it comes to the challenge.

I play on the easiest setting (I am not the best in dungeon crawlers and tend to leave them if I get stuck, but enjoy the aesthetic, story and management games). The battles are pretty easy, I still get hit sometimes, but only died once so far. The cult however feels just right to manage, get resources, take care of needs and collect rewards. So I can recommend if you are casual gamer :D

After I beat the game the mode I prefer, I did go back in play on the easiest mode. Because I wanted to see if picking different dialogue choices did anything. It really doesn't.

And what I can say I beat it MUCH faster then I did the first time, I did not die once. and I pretty much just spammed my way through the game.

Therefore, easy is super easy.

as a person who isn't great at games... like at all, easy was great for me. it is probably wayyyy too easy for the avg gamer but for someone who doesn't play, it made the game enjoyable that i was able to get through battle stuff with not much frustration. it was more fun and relaxing that way.

game is pretty easy
