Has anyone gotten a snail shell yet?

I've got over 12 hours in this game and have done absolutely everything except for the last follower skin which is the one you need snail shells for, I read online that Darkwood is the place to go but have been running through it non stop for close to an hour and I haven't even seen a snail. Am I just unlucky or does anyone know a better way to grind for these?

Is there not a person you meet, that is a snail? Might need to find that person first, as you dont seem to get mushrooms before you find the clue about the mushroom people.

Well I've completed the entire game as I said so I find it hard to believe there would be an NPC that hasn't appeared for me yet. I also can't find any information online other than they have a rare spawn rate.

There is an NPC Merchant with a pet snail who is an optional boss, however if this is required I have already done this

Might be another bug then, check discord and see if its on the list.

snails the ones that are critters like the squirrels in darkwood could be having several problems at the moment

first off bugged because apparently they can spawn only in a pentagram room after beating a boss for the first time.
secondly just have an absurdly low chance of spawning for some god forsaken reason
thirdly could be spawning underneath the level or be spawning invisible
fourth aren't real and a government scheme

In my first save file Ive seen a few of them in tarot rooms, but they didn't drop anything. I restarted the game due to that 3rd tier bug and I haven't seen a single snail in the new file. Beat the game and reran darkwood quite a few times.

Steam says 0% of people have the 'all follower skins' cheevo, which tells me no one can find the damn snail shells atm.

Unfortunately I've read some more forum posts and it seems to be generally accepted that snails are just bugged, with them not spawning after defeating an area boss and even if they do spawn they don't drop shells. Would be nice if there was a quick work around like a cheat table or something of the sort, seeing as it's my last achievement and as much as I like this game it's going to really bother me if it just sits there waiting for a bug fix for my last achievement.

Steam tells me 4.4% of people have the all follower skins achievement, which means there is definitely a stage of the game where snails spawn and drop shells.

This follower skins is bugged currently. But what you could do is farm the anura levels before unlocking the boss lair. So basic killing yourself not to progress till have you all shells. They should spawn after but don't seem to.

Sadly I imagine a lot of people like myself have progressed past this point and are now dependent on the developers fixing this bug, or starting the game from the beginning and doing everything again.
