Snails - A Completionist's Rants

Snails are the dumbest thing to lock an achievement behind. It's the only achievement that can't be influenced with skill and is leaving a really bad aftertaste in my mouth.

I love this game. I beat the game and loved the final boss. I pushed past not having all my rituals work cause of bugs. I looked past having quests insta-fail to where I have to push back dungeon runs to to raise my faith again. This game looks great, plays great, and despite being a rogue-like. I felt like there was a lot of control.
Then comes the snails. I have every-other achievement. I have every decoration. I'm only missing 1 follower form...the snail.

I have ran Darkwood 9 times and haven't seen the snail once. I have ran Anura 9 times and haven't seen the snail once.

This is outrageous. How is beating the 4 heretics on no hit runs, EASIER THAN FINDING SNAILS.
If anyone can give tips or tricks on how to get them to spawn that would be great.

I read in some other threads here that the snails are currently bugged. There's several threads talking about it. There's supposed to be something official on the discord, but I don't have discord so I didn't verify it myself.

Thanks for this. If this is true then that's even worse considering its my last achievement but whatever I'll deal.

Shells don't drop, steam says 0% of players have the followers achievement, suggesting you legit do not get snails yet.
