Way too high temperature (GPU)

Anyone has temp problems with this game?
On a 2070s it pushes over 80 degrees (celsius)
not even metro exodus or rdr2 got me these temps

It's prooobably an "infinite" framerate thing. I had issues like that with plenty of other games.

Go to your Nvidia control panel, and there should be an option there to let you limit FPS by game, or even cap it globally on your PC.

Yeah, somethings seriously unoptimized here. On the Deck, it's hitting 100c despite having 50~70% util on CPU and GPU. Most games, even at 90+% util will cap around 90c in my experience. The game runs a lot hotter and a lot poorer than I imagined it would.

It does seem like it was running a bit hot at times for me, sometimes in the 75-76c range when more demanding titles will hover around 65-68c. Most of the time it remains pretty cool, but it does spike at times for whatever reason. Adjusting visuals and messing with vsync didn't do much for it.

My CPU and GPU temp both stay at low 50 with maximum graphic settings.

most likely what aegix drakan said is it's your framerate going over 1000 or something it happens to games that don't implement vsync to the menu screen or loading screen. Try capping your framerate in your gfx control panel.

Incorrect, if their GPUs are heating up that means they are making a lot of frames per second :) This game runs in a toaster

My GPU has been fine so far, however i got one with alot of cooling (3070). I had similair issues when i had 2080 where even my videocard would heat up to 92c. Best advice I can give you is to enable vsync and set the screen hz to what your screen can hold the most (like 100hz/144hz).

Therefor you don't have the issue of running the game on 60 fps and also don't ask your game to go all out to get most fps you can. Cause if your screen only can handle 60/100 hz you prevent screen tearing with this issue and a overperfomaced gpu at certain games.

You need to set a frame cap. With no frame cap or vsync your system will render as many frames as it can. In a game like this that means probably 1000 fps+. Each pixel rendered generates heat. A frame cap of your monitor's refresh rate is a good idea for every game.

Turns out the "infinite" fps was the problem, capped it in the nvidia control panel and now I dropped from 80 to 35 degrees. Thanks everyone

Go into steam settings, turn FPS counter on in the top right/left of the screen. It's out of the way and you never notice it unless you look at it. The reason I always have this on, is there are SO MANY uncapped framed games and I don't feel like hearing my GPU fans kick up to rocket levels on a 2d sprite game's loading screen. Nothing like 8k frames to get your computer into orbit.
