My friend says this is similar the slay the spire. Thoughts?
Me and a friend are arguing about how this and slay are no where near the same. We both brought up different points. I said him comparing this to slay is like comparing halo to cod. We would like other thoughts on this.

Top review on steam right now says he beat the game in 8 hrs full unlocks, there is no meta progression, one and done unfortunately and not worth $25 imo

For a roguelite game? That's just sheer blasphemy. Their entire premise is replaying the game to do better/earn other rewards. 8 hour roguelite is just, wow.

Mostly because the 'top review' the dumb ass is saying exists doesn't. Most people are saying 20-30 hours for a single play through at the moment, with a Hades style endgame in a few weeks.

Obviously they are quite similar. They are both PC games, both on Steam, both can be installed and launched through the Steam application, both have achievements and point shop items, both have Soundtrack DLC, both are developed by a company which name starts with M. What else? Both were released in the current century, both have Very Positive review rating, both games have controller support, both require less than 10GB disk space, both have an official website link to which you can find on Steam store, both cost less than 1000rub, both can be played in English.

I guess there are many other similarities which you can find so unless you say which properties of the game you are trying to compare the statement that two games are similar or different is meaningless.

Other than falling under the umbrella of roguelite, they're different games. Cult is a hack and slash arpg type of roguelite similar to Hades, Children of Morta and Dreamscaper. StS is a turn-based deck builder.
Is this on par with hades? I loved hades.
Is StS the only other game your friend ever played?

Why is this...even a thread?

Humans are devolving. As time goes on, technology takes over. Cellphone zombies roam the streets, people have robots wiping their asses for them and so on. The human brain becomes less important with each newborn child. The current result is the kind of stupidity demonstrated by OP and his friend.

Yes but to be fair coming to the dumbest place on the entire internet and picking the dumbest possible thread to post a lament about how everyone is more stupider than you is like beating up a baby and harrumphing about the downfall of true warriors. I'm sure your burdens are heavier than most (that galaxy brain alone must weight fifty pounds wet) but relax, people are fine, and nice, and smart, and we're all trying our best, and we don't even know OP.

your friend clearly a cult member that want to convert you
ye it has slay the spire vibes when it comes to the rng of the runs you get
like each time you start a dungeon you start from 0 and than you get random tarrot cards similar to relics in slay the spire so yes there is similaritys
beside from that they are obvious completly different games
The only thing this game is close is Binding of Isaac. Slay the Spire is just roguelike, it doesn't mean they are similar. They, of course, are to some degree, but same way any other game is similar to another game, because they are games.
In other words, no, they are not similar enough to say they are alike. They are both Roguelikes, but that's about it. You can't stretch this similarity far, since these are two very different games.

Games like Hades are unique. They inspire a lot of other games, but this one is mostly inspired by Binding of Isaac, not Hades. At least within the action stuff. The village section is a thing of its own.

That is called a roguelike genre. They all give you random perks at the beginning and zero out your progress each time.
For this game, the roguelike is in the action (dungeons) section.
this game is more similiar to csgo

trust me on this one:csgoct:
