Your only option is to wait for the devs to add Divorce, sadly
Unless there's some workaround by decrypting and editing your save, but I'm no expert in that

I hear that. Similar just happened to me in game. I'd also like to see the Gold Skull Necklace get added to your inventory upon marriage. So that if your spouse is happily married to you, you can make them immortal.

The medal thing probably will never happen, since you are the God of Death, you can raise them not to mention there is the Egg-food to make them young again untill fortune favors you and roll the necklace from the Seller
People would abuse it to hell - marriage-->neckie-->divorce--->profit--->rinse and repeat

Followers never care though. The worst that can happen is if you have too many spouses, they'll get jealous.

I think the penalty only applies during the wedding. Its not a continuous thing?

there was an update that fleshes out the marriage dynamics, spouses can now be happily or unhappily married and if they're jealous, they can fight the other spouses, sometimes to death
