Game Crashes at Massive Monster Logo

How to recreate this scenario for me
Step 1: Launch Cult of the Lamb
Step 2: Game Launches
Step 3: Massive Monster Logo
Step 4: Monster is utterly maddened by the fact I have the audacity to show up here and proceeds to roar at me
Step 5: Get forcefully sent back to desktop

Edit: I have tried Deleting all main files and validating, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling entirely, I looked up something about my saves being an issue so I copy/pasted them into a backup folder and proceeded to delete that. Nothing works, so at this point I'm convinced the game doesn't want me to play

I don't know if it's this update in particular thats caused it, It has been a couple of months since I last played but during that point I was able to play it

Some more attempts have been made with no success
1: Changing the file path of my CotL to see if not being on the same drive was the issue (no success)
2: Going into Properties of CotL.exe and checking either/both "Run as admin and disable fullscreen optimizations" (no success)
3: Going into firewall settings and letting CotL bypass the firewall (no success)
4: Using steam launch commands i.e. -full screen and -window (no success)
5: Compatibility troubleshooter said to try running in windows 8 (no success obviously but was desperate)

I'm running out of ideas here and really want to try the new update out

By the way, I have exactly the same problem. This happened exactly after the update, as the game recently started without problems.

Okay, I just restarted Steam and everything worked, thanks to this discussion:

Nothing changed. I always got this message:

Switching to resolution 640x480 failed, trying without exclusive fullscreen mode
Switching to resolution 640x480 failed
Screen: DX11 could not switch resolution (640x480 fs=1 hz=0)

This worked for me, and I'm almost upset at the fact I waited 7 hours for this simple solution
