Yarlen won't give quest?

Just as the title says. He's been in my cult for about 20 days and won't give me the quest to find his sister. I've tried killing him and then reviving him, and strangely i got a repeat of the quest to recruit him so i had a clone of him for a bit. When i saved, exited, and reopened my save file the clone was not visible in my cult, but i could assign the clone to different houses. I tried killing and reviving him again which got rid of the clone, but he still won't give me the quest. I'm not sure what to do to fix this issue.

I've seen some other people get clones of jalala but i haven't seen anything about clones of yarlen, so i wanted to post this. It's a bit frustrating considering i just managed to fix the last issue of not getting a quest in my save file. I'm starting to worry something's wrong with it, which i really hope isn't the case since i've had this file since launch day and don't want to delete it. Any help would be appreciated. I just sent in my file via the bug report feature so hopefully that'll help as well.

I forgot to mention that when i try to force his quest (the game starts lagging until you get close enough to a cultist for them to give you a quest) he just makes a comment about how nice the cult is and doesn't give a quest. Very frustrating.

Do you HAVE THE COMIC? Something tells me the Comic is going to be required.

Yes i do have the comic. I was able to get the quest to work on a different save file, so i'm not sure what's going on with the file i was talking about

Update he just gave me the quest. I'm not fully sure what changed but i'm not going to question it. I did try killing him and reviving him a couple of times so maybe that did it? Again still not sure.
