What is the point of marrige ritual?
As the title says, what is the point of it? Now I am sitting with half of my cult fighting over nothing (don't judge me). They cannot even try for ''wohoo'' with each other (they treat themselves as enemies)

Too bad there is not an incentive for marrige, like special ritual where Lambert could romance with spouse/es and for instance had higher chance for golden eggs.

Edit: further explanation.

The point seems straight forward. You marry. The faith bar rises by a set amount which could help if faith is low for whatever reason. That's the point of about 30% of all the rituals. Then the other 60% or so are focused on things besides raising faith.

Not to mention the roleplay aspect where someone might have gotten attatched to one of their idiot cult members and so are doing it purely because they want to marry them.

marriage has three small benifits you have an extra interaction with them(smooch) for a slight faith gain, after your third marriage you get a reward and being married puts a large icon by the character when you use the follower items so you can very quickly and easily pick them from a list. i married my three strongest cultists so i can pick them out from the others without looking at their names or faces in the lists
Marrying 3 followers for 2 outfits (part of getting an achievement) is there if you want that, otherwise, mainly faith, but also if you actually like a follower enough to do that, then you gain an extra option to smooch them for extra faith. Just be mindful, if you have 2+ spouses, they may get jealous every time you marry another follower, and they may break into frequent fights. There's no divorcing (as far as I am aware), so you more or less can't stop them from fighting. It also gives them "enemy" status where they have a 2% chance of breeding if you try that.

Just marry all the polyamorous followers, profit.

Originally, when you could continue to level a cult member infinitely, it provided one more way to keep them going up, allowing you to continue to raise or(or a few) cult members you married with one more action(the aforementioned kissing).

Now that Follower Level is capped to 10, it really only exists as a role playing thing, like the outfits themselves, and maybe for a quest or two.

Webber won't breed in any case, marriage doesn't affect that

Webber is not allowed to mate by design, as he is supposed to be an actual child (I think? I never played Don't Starve so I don't know the exact lore, but this is what I've heard)

No, they just don't want you pass on his unique 'don't starve' trait. I'm mean, sure, you can come up with that he's a kid or whatever, but realistically they don't want you to pass on his trait. And being a kid isn't a valid excuse as time passes in this game and people grow up and have ages attached to them. So even if he started as a "kid" he'd grow up in a few days

There are ways around it tho if you wanna cheese the system and breed him to pass on the trait to others, just takes a little creative use of gameplay elements
