Bug report - can't get into Discord

As the title says, I can't get into the Discord. It won't let me accept the invite or get into it by going through Discoverable Communities in Discord app.

The bug is that I can't do any cult upgrades past the basic. I wanted to start a new game to enjoy the new update, I get a frozen black screen when trying to unlock Cult II. So I tried to play my existing save file, when I went to upgrade and it showed the new unlockable buildings, I got the same frozen black screen. So unfortunately, I can't play the new update at all.

I am playing on an M1 Mac.
