About Permadeath and Penitence Mode

While I haven't tried either yet, I was waiting for this update, is there a way or can there be a way to continue that run if you die regardless? Of course it won't count as a Permadeath or Penitence run, but I really want to see the entire game through with the new content. New content with my old savefile's endgame won't hit the same. Maybe give this as an option, too!

You can just start a new save file! As the point of permadeath/penitence is the death after running it

If you do be warned there are 2 very annoying glitches/overlooks with either of these modes that are still not fixed.

Choosing Permadeath without Quick Start hard locks your game to Tutorial difficulty " - - - " you never get the prompt to pick Easy/Medium/Hard/Very Hard after coming out of the tutorial dungeon. It's stuck on tutorial difficulty forever unable to be changed.

In Pentinence you start with Omnipresence but other crown abilities cannot be unlocked at all cause you never get any Heretic hearts.

But my savefile will be erased if I die/starve/fall asleep in Permadeath/Penitence, won't it?
I just realized I could just back up my save file every time before I play anyway
