Elderly and necklace thingy
I have a skull necklace, and a follower who is turning Elderly.
(saved before i talked to him)
so .. how does this work?

It just extends the life hood of the follower, it doesn't make them immortal, 50+ age is the average for normal age, the necklace should extend that roughly to 80+ or 90+ give or take.

You can also loot it off their corpse, then res them, and gift it again.

.... So if i can find a way to give it to the guy before the 'turns' old, it will keep him young and able to work?

In theory yes, when it comes to the practice again I made a rough estimate on how much it extends to but for all I know my rough estimate is completely wrong, plus the only time it doesn't extend is if the follower in question is if they inform you via questline.

Or you can just res them with it on! The res would make them young anyway.

I've ressed my 1st follower twice. He's over a hundred.
Again, you can just res them with it on their person already, why lose faith from disturbing the dead just to lose more by resing them again?

Assuming OP didn't choose the other Doctrine which I believe is Funeral.

oh so thats where i get it? ill have to look up Doctrine stuff then. Was told it can be a headache cause each one is a Single, Permament Choice.
Got at least two or three tablents to use from Follower lvl ups

only docterine i have (which was by accident) is collect a tax from Followers every day.

It would be funny if you gave the skull necklace to an old follower and they stayed alive for +50 more years but they were old the whole time.

Can't do much with the elderly. No bribes and no gifts, and I don't think demon or missionary. Pretty eh. It'd be funny, until you realize you just gave a skull necklace to someone who isn't worth giving it to... unless you wake them up in the middle of the night for a nice stroll... but then they won't be old anymore, so moot.

Yeah then that's something you can't really avoid, if its done via quest like that it seems even with the necklace you'll get the average age for them to turn old, after that though they shouldn't inform you and you'll just see them turn old on their own.
