the hammer and dagger feel so bad to use
So the hammer and dagger the same problem but in different ways: extremely low DPS
the hammer takes AGES to swing and often you have to dodge out of the way before the swing happens so you end up dealing no damage, dodging around and then taking damage because you can't really do ANYTHING
The dagger sucks because it deals so little damage and if you mash it for the full combo you end up taking damage or just wiffing most of the attacks (also the dagger has this weird thing where if your facing something dead on and they lunge at you, you will miss them @.@)
they feel more like punishment then weapons, there is not even a risk or reward factor its all risk with both of them

I killed the final boss and other bosses with the hammer. You just need to time it right.

As for the dagger, I don't like it for how close you need to be with your target. Specially with bosses that spam shots or slam aoe very quick.

The only reason I don't complain for the hammer it's for the nice range it has and great amount of damage it deals. Pair it with the gold fleece and you can one shot almost anything.

Maybe if the daggers deal extra crit damage for every two hits or longer stun on enemies, I would like them.

I mean sure you killed the boss on hard more, I don't care lol the sword and axe deal way more damage than the dagger and hammer respectively because you can actually chain attacks and roll out of the way of stuff, the hammer is very bottom tier and the dagger is just above it.
axe is way better than hammer because it deals just slightly less and you can do hit and runs
sword is the best because it deals like 0.1 less than axe and is perfect in every way lol

I actually love the hammer. Fits my playstyle. I agree on the daggers though. I do wonder if there is some dagger user that loves them and thinks they are strong though.

All of the weapons feel bad to use honestly, and they're all interchangeable pretty much. I have no clue why the devs thought it was smart to make a 2 dmg weapon 1 speed, and a 4 damage weapon at 0.5 speed (examples)... that's literally the same weapon. There's no benefit to most weapons because they're all the same just slower... and lock you in place since there's no poise on enemies to break, so you get hit mid strike/combo.

I feel like they should have actually played a rouge-lite before making this, specifically something like hades that lets you pick your weapon... while also having each weapon be incredibly unique.

Instead it's just obfuscated damage stats that all cancel each other out and "modifiers" that "help" with crits, although to be frank, a 10% boost is basically a 0% boost in the scheme of things. The vampiric weapons? Can't say I've noticed healing, necro? Maybe one ghost? I dunno. It's all just so... forgettable, and isn't helped by the fact that there are only 30 cards and most of them are useless like "enemies drop fish"... meaning there are about 4 cards that are ok like attack speed, curse damage, etc.

tl;dr: so many runs with a weapon offer with a green up-arrow because it was 20 damage at 0.5x... when my sword did 5 dmg at 2x speed... math hard.

I like the dagger sometimes. The hammer as first weapon is an instant restart. It feels so bad to use, I'm desperately trying to get the last no-hit achievement to 100% and the hammer is just the most frustrating thing to drop

the hammer with the faster hitrate upgraded tarot card hits actually faster than the dagger but this is end game ig, it becomes insanely op at that point

tho the dagger is bad no matter what, its just bad.

so the divine strength card (the attack rate one) applies to everything my dude, that means the dagger can get the same buff but with the hammer even with the max rarity version of it the hammer still has a wind up time and only one attack in its hit combo so your comment means nothing actually because all the other weapons with the same buff are better lol

hammer and dagger is fine, hammer is good for hit-and-run tactics while dagger is good for curse spamming with fruitful fervour drops. The only wpn i dont like is the claw, the last combo always miss cuz it always knock enemies back with it's initial weak combo

Dagger's only good with upgrades really, because it's range and damage is ♥♥♥♥ to begin with. Hammer hits hard, but leaves you vulnerable unfortunately like swinging a big weapon in dark souls. Axe and claws are my favorite to use in comparison.

hammer is the worst for hit and run! because you can't actually hit and run, you have to sit there for like a full second leaving yourself open then your open while you hit for another second and you can't roll right after! also the dagger is terrible for curses because the amount dropped has nothing to do with the weapon itself

I perfer the weapons to have long ranges over raw speed. So the hammer suits well for me. Only issue with Hammer comes from the little cult dagger guys. As they notably outspeed you with hammer. Making them very annoying. I think Axe is the best overall weapon though by a good margin. The claws being a close second as it pairs disgustingly well with some tarot cards

Dagger on the otherhand I usual hate. The really low range and damage make it's fairly bad against any enemy that you can't stagger.

There is one really good niche with dagger though. Namely it's very good with certain tarot cards. If you get the 10% projectile swing or very good magic stuff. The dagger becomes very strong as the high swing speed makes the projectiles comeout somewhat reliably. Allowing you to even kinda camp with it.

The dagger guys are easy with hammer. You just let them come to you and hit them when they are about to reach you. They only get away from you if you try to go after them. Just stay still and let them come, like moths to a flame.

the dagger guys are easy with any weapon dude, when you hit them they get stunned for a moment and you can bully them around so its actully much easier to kill them with anything else: dagger just tab the button and don't combo
sword just combo
axe if they don't die in a single hit just hit them again
