It is so hard to get wood in this game, then my wood workshops break and I cant make more CAUSE THERES NEVER ENOUGH WOOOOOOOD

You can cut the practice dummies at the start of each zone for 2 wood each. I know it's not much, but it helps get the first wood farm started early on.

It's definitely rough at the start, but if you can get 4 lumber yards up at once, your wood problems disappear pretty quick.

Don't worry! You can send missionaries out to gather like 30 to 40 wood each time.

You can sometimes choose lumber as your reward, after clearing a boss. I know it's not great to do over and over. But it can help you get out of a pinch, and help you get your first few lumber-camps set up.

And you can also harvest wood when you come across those rooms in your runs, they tend to be marked with a log picture.

I’ve had three active at one point and for some reason they will only work at 1/3 even when I assign more followers to it. I think it’s a known bug though

Yeah, followers are weird like that. I've heard people having issues with them working, though usually just saving and reloading fixes it.

I've gone through the game twice now and set up 4 lumber yards and 4 stone mines in a big square with a propaganda speaker in the middle. Works well and generates a ton of resources. You'll never starve for wood or stone again, and you can save your missionaries so they can collect bones for spamming rituals.
