How to do a sacrifice?

Hi all.

I started a new game after getting cultist edition DLC and I can't figure out on how to unlock the sacrifice? Is it in the doctrines or should I do something? Can't remember how I unlocked it the last time I played and I'm a bit puzzled. It's day 16 already, one of my followers have a specific request - to sacrifice a jailed follower (the one he requested to send to jail as well) and I used after life doctrine and unlocked getting +25 faith during the sacrifice, but how to do the actual thing?

I'm out of the tutorial, Ratau has left, and I'm on my won for a while. Did I miss something? Or is it a bug?

It unlocks automatically as you advance in the game.

At what stage, tho? I feel like on my previous play-through I sacrificed my first follower in the first few days. And I didn't even fight Leshy prior to have that ability.

I think I remember people saying it happens a couple runs after killing your first bishop?

Like, it just happens. You can't miss it.

My friend started a new cult and just as I suspected, you don't have to fight any Bishops - you get sacrifice as a reward after beating the third miniboss - Barbatos, which will lead you straight to the One Who Waits.

I beat Barbatos on my first try and I think I even got to the One Who Waits after that, but he never gave me the ability and it just carried on like this.

So yes, my question answered - it is a bug, so note to dev move it to another subforum and possibly fix it, please.

Also, possibly a weird theory, but every time I pick a Yes as an answer in the beginning my save file is always bugged with some things. Absolutely seems to be working fine (although I tested it just once).

Also, thank you for the answer as well. It just happens, as you said, just a bit earlier in game.
