Where is the f octopus?

I am fishing almost all the days in cult of the lamb and i am in day 75, the lighthouse is in max upgrade, but when i fish i never get octopus, i dont have the ritual of fishing, than this make even worst.

Please help, i cant get octopus to finish the fisherman sidequest

It's in the settings/options.

I'm surprised the Octopus is the one you're having trouble with though as it's usually the Squid as it's the rarer one to get. If you haven't already gotten it then the Ritual involving Fishing is also very useful as you'll get two types of fish when you reel 'em in and it also boosts the chance of getting rarer fish.

Based on my experience, it seems to be a different fish every time I make a new game. First time it was squid that I couldn't find for ages, then the second game squids were extremely common but crabs were non-existant. OP here seems to be having trouble with octopus, and other people on this board seem to have trouble finding lobster. So... it could be any of them. I don't get it.

i cant get ritual fishing anymore, already got other one. The squid was one of the first for i get, already got all, just last the octopus

Well in any case I got all the type of fish and still didn't get the success on steam so I'm stuck with only this one left because it's bugged...

I read in another thread that saving your game, exiting to the main menu and reloading your game before you leave your cult to go fishing helps to reset the fishing RNG table, so yesterday I decided to test that on a new save file, and I got all 4 fish for the quest in 2 fishing sessions. So give that a try if you're having trouble, it worked for me.

Next time when you play from the beginning, take the fishing doctrine since that likely would have solved your issue before it even became one.
