Aside from that T2 meat/cauliflower dishes all the way!
But generally, yes, I do bother, if I so happen to have what it takes. Otherwise, I just make the next best meal either with positive effects or the least bad effect possible. I avoid dishes that cause sickness unless I have nothing else available. At some point, it is so easy to consistently make T2 food that it's not worth still bothering with T1 food.
You have enough money end game to buy as many fish as you want and pump out whatever food though.
Generally I used the T2 mixed meals, and T1 foods to top off hunger. I sent my crappy Followers on missions only ever for meat, and with 2 farms never got low on vegetables (with 20 Followers). Sending Folowers on missions also reduces the amount of food you need so it's kind of a double whammy.
If you stick to T3 meals they do consume your ingredients pretty quickly though. Better to keep them for special occasions.
