very cool game but...
Please don't do a roguelike, if you lose the things you got every time you die, it makes no sense, the game is quite difficult, you rarely get hearts to restore energy, and the beauty of the game should be cult building , fighting shouldn't be that hard. Consider introducing parry mechanics to lower the difficulty and improve your technique

Hello and thank you for the feedback and time you put into our game. The core of the game is made up from the cult building and dungeons, so I highly doubt (read that as 100%) that we will remove the rouglike aspect of the game. Tho we can take a look into the difficulty of both of those core mechanics and see if we can add maybe some extra options or w.e for it to be more flexible towards players who prefer one over the other!

I think a save function is present in the final game right?

On point! If you die in the run you'll just get teleported back to your cult.

and you'll start the run from scratch, or pick up where you lost?

You will need to start from the beginning. Tho the resources you collected up until the point you died, you will still take those back (tho some that you pick up in bigger quantities like gold will be bit reduced, e.g it will say you collected 30 gold but due dying you will lose about 5 and just get 25).

Can you get any other permanent upgrades besides max hearts/max spell resource from the cult? Sure you can get unlocks but they don't directly power up your character.

I think that there's a fine balance between being too roguelike and being too stat focused game. For example Ni No Kuni 2 has great base building but because the content is too easy the base is not needed for anything besides story progression. Then there's Sakuna of Rice and Ruin where no matter how well you play the action part of the game, it's impossible to win without focusing A LOT on the "base building" part of the game.

well done roguelikes are the best, but there are nearly no well done roguelikes ont he market. i havent played the demo but if this game is similar to hades, it will be a masterpiece. i really hope the devs do it right with loosing stuff when playing BUT also getting permanent stuff to upgrade your skills/perks etc. so you get better with each run even if you die. if its death and you lose everything without exception then this will be the worst and will destroy the game for me personally.

i'm hoping this game will be as well made as hades or vampire survivors. if they nail the balance this game will make them all millionaires irl, no doubt about that :D

The weapon stats increase as you progress as well.

would love a parry mechanic! something a bit more high risk, high reward than just dodging out of the way
