(SPOILER) Did you do the sacrifice?
Title, but specifically, did you guys sacrifice Ratau to the Fox? I'm curious about it because I did it and now I feel guilty.

It's the only way to get all the ponchos and follower skins, so yeah. Besides, since I took the resurrection ritual and kept the crown, there shouldn't be anything stopping me from bringing the old rat back. In theory, that is.

I kind of wish this is where the half a heart option came in. Like a full heart or Ratau. It's a bit of a shame that you can manage your Cult, more or less, in a 'friendly' manner. Yet getting 100% requires going True Dark.

Same deal with the Monster Form. Permanently traumatizing someone being the only option is unfortunate.

I did... I don't even know why. The rewards you get from the fox (or most other quests), just aren't worth it. Chances are you picked the cloak you wanted the first chance you got, and the rest are for completionists.

Everything I did in this run was to create ultimate evil cult. So sacrificing Ratau was inevitable. I will try to do the opposite next time after majority of bugs are fixed and additional content is released.

Had to in order to achieve 100% completion.

After you sacrifice him, check the letters to the left of his house for extra emotional damage.

Also, speak to the NPC in "heart" rooms: he tells that you remind him of someone — his brother Ratau — wonders if he's okay and asks you to say "hi" to him when you meet him

Yes. Had beaten the game already and wanted to get all the achievements, so there was no way around it really.

Though I will say, this would've felt a lot more tragic if Ratau actually had a purpose past the tutorial. After the tutorial, he just becomes a Knucklebones NPC, with no further dialogue even after you beaten the game. No congratulations on making it that far, nothing. I had almost forgotten he existed.

That's kinda the problem with all the NPCs, somehow

Honestly, yes. This. I didn't feel any sort of serious loss from sacrificing him, just pity. I was momentarily sad, but at the end of the day he was just an old rat I met briefly at the beginning of the game.

I agree. Even though I feel guilty harming NPCs that have a semblance of personality, Ratau really didn't have much to him after the tutorial. I feel like if he'd done anything more after the tutorial it'd be easier to feel guilt for a longer period of time.

I did forget who he was, I was thinking after given him to the red fox was who's that. It was only when I went to his shack and saw a character missing was then I realise lol.

I did since hes a barely present NPC, and I wanted the wolf skin.

Honestly would be kinda cool if there was a ratau skin; I'd love if I could make him my disciple.
